چکیده
Laurent Augusto (INRA) presented the current state of knowledge on the relationship between forest management policies and the maintenance of soil fertility based on the results of the RESOBIO(1) project (Landmann & Nivet, 2014) which studied the management of harvesting residues and the preservation of soils and biodiversity. Laurent Saint-André (INRA) gave a special presentation on the management of forests in tropical regions.

Modeling the effects of a log export ban in Indonesia
Because enforcement of forestry law has become extremely difficult in Indonesia, a ban on export of logs has been suggested as a means of controlling over-harvest and illegal logging. A model of a log export ban can help us visualize its effects on the forestry sector. The model consists of simplified overviews of: the wood processing sector, demand – price feed back loops, forest standing stoc...

Nitrogen and and phosphorus are important components of plant nutrition. However inappropriate use of these nutrients can affect physiological aspects of plant. Therefore, in order to evaluate the response of some physiological parameters in purslane sucuulent plant to plant nutrition, an experiment was conducted as a RCBD with a split plot in time arrangement, which that nine levels of plant n...
متن کاملUsing Macronutrient Distributions within Trees to Define a Branch Diameter Threshold for Biomass Harvest in Sugar Maple-Dominated Stands
As the use of forest harvesting residues for energy production gains popularity, debate continues regarding the long-term sustainability of whole tree harvesting (WTH). This practice removes nutrient-rich twigs that only account for a small fraction of harvest residues, emphasising the need to develop nutrient-efficient alternatives to WTH. This study assessed N, P, K, Ca, and Mg distributions ...
متن کاملAssessment Effect of Different level of Nitrogen Fertilizer (Urea Source) and Interval between Irrigation Round on Crop Production of Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L., cv. Speed feed)
BACKGROUND: Nutrients play a very important role in chemical, biochemical, physiological, metabolic, geochemical, biogeochemical, and enzymatic processes. Innovations for saving water in irrigated agriculture and thereby improving water use efficiency are of paramount importance in water-scarce regions. Conventional deficit irrigation is one approach that can reduce water use w...
متن کاملAssess Effect of Deficit Irrigation and Super Absorbent Ploymer on Crop Production and Growth Indices of Corn under Dry and Warm Climate Condition
BACKGROUND: Polyacrylamide is the main synthetic polymer used, and it absorbs water through the formation of hydrogen bonds. Super Absorbent Polymer (SAP) can absorb water up to 200-400 times its weight and increase its size by up to 100 times. OBJECTIVES: Evaluate effect of different irrigation regime and super absorbent polymer on agrop...
